In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Justice has proposed amendments to the Law "On Civil Status Acts," which has become a subject of public discussion. The aim of this draft law is to eliminate the legal gap that complicates the inheritance process for citizens who are not close relatives of the testator.

According to current practice, the issuance of a death certificate for the testator was often denied to many individuals if they were not part of the closest relatives. This created obstacles for notaries, who could not open an inheritance case even if the will was made in their favor.

The new draft law proposes the introduction of a mechanism that will allow such citizens to obtain the necessary documents and exercise their inheritance rights without hindrance.

The draft law is currently available on the official portal of the Jogorku Kenesh, and public discussion is ongoing.
