She noted that the shortened spring break in the third quarter had caused dissatisfaction among parents.
“The problem arose due to the entry into force of the new Labor Code in January 2026 and additional holidays in May, from the 1st to the 10th, which create an additional period of rest for students. However, considering the numerous appeals from parents and discussions with experts, the spring break will be extended from March 2 to March 8,” added Jusupbekova.
She also emphasized that the Ministry of Education and the Kyrgyz Academy of Education have been tasked with carefully analyzing the proposals from parents, educators, and experts when developing the holiday calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year.
“We will take into account a more rational distribution of the academic load and rest periods,” concluded the deputy minister.
