The appeal of Bolot Temirov, who is engaged in journalistic investigations, has been officially registered with the UN Human Rights Committee. He announced this on social media.

The journalist noted that relevant questions have already been sent to the current authorities of Kyrgyzstan, who must respond by August 26, 2026.

As previously reported, a team of lawyers providing Temirov with free legal assistance has prepared and submitted a complaint to the aforementioned committee. This document contains 47 pages and over 100 points, in which, according to the applicant, evidence of violations of his international rights is presented.

The complaint addresses issues related to the right to a fair trial, citizenship, protection from arbitrary detention, and freedom of expression.

It should be recalled that on January 22, 2022, Bolot Temirov was detained in a case of illegal production and storage of drugs. The day before, on January 21, he published an investigation dedicated to the "Tashiev clan." On April 20, three more criminal cases were initiated against Temirov - on charges of illegally obtaining Kyrgyz citizenship (two cases) and illegally crossing the border.

In September 2022, the Sverdlov District Court of Bishkek acquitted Temirov of the charges of "Storage of drugs without intent to sell" and illegal border crossing. However, in the case of document forgery, he was found guilty, but no punishment was applied due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

At the appeal on November 23, 2022, the Bishkek City Court upheld the first instance's decision but ordered the deportation of Temirov, who holds citizenship of both Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as an additional penalty for document forgery. This decision was immediately enforced, and Temirov was forcibly removed from the courtroom, after which he was taken to the airport and sent to Moscow.

Currently, Bolot Temirov continues his journalistic activities outside the country.
