The rocket strike completely destroyed a girls' school in southern Iran

According to media reports citing sources in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), this event was the result of the immense destructive power of the munitions. According to data published by the Iranian Ministry of Health, the number of casualties ranges from 150 to 160 people. Iranian authorities believe that the attack on the civilian facility was carried out by the armed forces of the United States and Israel, which began large-scale operations on February 28. The strike occurred in the midst of the school day, when numerous female students were present in the building.

Amid ongoing hostilities, the humanitarian situation in the country has significantly worsened. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Iranian Red Crescent report a critical shortage of medical supplies in hospitals in Tehran, Isfahan, and southern regions, which are overwhelmed with casualties. Rescue operations are hampered by the near-total lack of internet connectivity and disruptions in mobile communications, complicating the coordination of emergency services. The International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL) and other human rights organizations have already condemned the strikes on civilian infrastructure, calling the attack on the school in Minab a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter. Human rights advocates are demanding the immediate establishment of corridors for the evacuation of civilians and access for independent observers to the sites of destruction to verify the number of casualties.

The escalation of the conflict, including strikes on government buildings and nuclear facilities, has caused a mass exodus of people from major cities and paralyzed transportation links. While Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu speak of the "credibility" of reports regarding the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the international community expresses serious concerns about a potential humanitarian catastrophe in the region. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the responsibility for the consequences of this crisis lies entirely with the United States and Israel, noting that the strikes are being carried out during attempts to conduct diplomatic negotiations in Geneva. The situation is exacerbated by the suspension of operations at major airports, including Dubai, and threats to block maritime routes in the Red Sea.
