“I would really like to see a gradual lifting of sanctions,” Trump noted in response to a question about whether the administration is seeking to remove restrictions against Moscow and improve trade and economic relations between the two countries.
He also emphasized that he is aiming for a quick resolution to the conflict in Ukraine: “I would like to see it end as soon as possible,” the president added.
Trump stated: “I would like this war to end. I have spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin. I hope for the resolution of this conflict.” However, he did not specify whether this would be related to new high-level contacts.
