According to his statement, the results of joint efforts in the agricultural sector over the past five years are impressive: the volume of agricultural production has reached nearly 2 trillion soms.
“This means the creation of new jobs and an increase in income for farming families, which in turn contributes to the economic independence of regions and the entire republic,” Japarov emphasized.
As of today, Kyrgyzstan fully provides itself with six out of nine main food products, which is an important indicator of the country's food security and sustainability. Previously, these products were largely dependent on imports. In the future, the republic plans to achieve self-sufficiency in the remaining three categories, reducing dependence on external supplies,” the president added.
He also noted that more than 60 types of domestically produced goods are exported to over 80 countries, which demonstrates the competitiveness of Kyrgyz farmers on the international stage.
“These achievements in the agricultural sector have been made possible through the joint efforts of the state, cooperatives, processors, and thousands of farmers who believe in reforms and have received real tools for developing their farms,” he stated.
Understanding the importance of water resources for agriculture, the state pays special attention to modernizing irrigation infrastructure. Over the past five years, canals, pumping stations, and hydraulic structures have been built and repaired, and modern methods of water accounting and distribution have been implemented. Thousands of farmers have received new equipment for drip and sprinkler irrigation, significantly increasing crop yields and the efficiency of land use.
Thus, we are not only developing industry but also creating a sustainable model of rural economy aimed at the well-being of every individual. Our goal is for every rural resident to feel the support of the state, be confident in the future, and take pride in their contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan,” the president concluded his speech.
