At the event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Muratbek Imanaliev, Bolot Otunbaev, the special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized the importance of this anniversary for national diplomacy.
Otunbaev noted that the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs has resonated widely among the diplomatic community, politicians, and public figures.
“Today we celebrate a significant date, and the diplomatic community, political circles, and representatives of civil society are actively participating in this event,” he stated.
In Otunbaev's opinion, Muratbek Sansyzbaevich is one of the founders of Kyrgyz diplomacy. During the period of gaining independence, he repeatedly headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had a substantial influence on the formation of the country's foreign policy service.
It is important to note that this year marks the Kyrgyz Republic's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Muratbek Imanaliev also held the position of Secretary-General of this organization and significantly contributed to its development.
Kyrgyzstan, along with Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, became one of the founding members of this structure, which was initially known as the "Shanghai Five" and later transformed into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Otunbaev also highlighted Imanaliev's contribution to the development of diplomatic education, pointing out that he was one of the first leaders of the Information and Analytical Center of the Diplomatic Academy and played an important role in shaping the analytical direction of diplomat training.
According to Otunbaev, Imanaliev was at the origins of Kyrgyz diplomacy, and his contribution cannot be overestimated.
“Today, young diplomats and veterans of the service congratulate Muratbek Sansyzbaevich, wishing him good health, happiness, and continued active engagement,” he added.
Otunbaev expressed hope that Imanaliev would continue to share his rich experience with the younger generation of diplomats and create memoirs that would hold an important place in the history of the Kyrgyz Republic,” he concluded.
