At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu expressed concern about the negative impact of banned online casinos on Kyrgyz citizens. He noted that such activities increasingly affect the youth, including schoolchildren.
“This phenomenon leads to serious social problems. Although the law prohibits citizens of Kyrgyzstan from participating in online gambling, there is a lack of actual control over the enforcement of these norms,” emphasized Karybek uulu.
In response, Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubayeva pointed out that Kyrgyz citizens are indeed prohibited from playing in casinos; however, there are no such restrictions on the online format.
To this, the deputy countered, stating that the law clearly prohibits virtual gambling as well.
Konkubayeva added that control over this situation should be carried out by the State Financial Intelligence Service.
Ulukbek Karybek uulu called on the prosecutor's office and the State Financial Intelligence Service to intensify efforts to block illegal online casinos and hold their organizers accountable.
