The Minister of Health discussed ways to address staffing issues
The acting Minister of Health shared that attracting medical professionals to remote regions poses a serious problem. Most specialists prefer to work in cities, as this provides them with greater comfort and better living conditions for their families.
“To solve this problem, it is necessary to start during the training period, during the residency. Doctors who complete their residency become certified specialists. However, they do not receive payment for this, and many of them pay for their education out of pocket. Therefore, it is important to provide residents with a salary and, upon completion of their residency, send them to the regions for 1-2 years. This will help address the staffing shortage,” expressed Damirbek Osmonov's opinion.
