At a recent parliamentary meeting, member of the Jogorku Kenesh Gula Kozhokulova proposed to relieve bus drivers of the responsibility of accepting cash for fares.
Kozhokulova believes that drivers should focus on safely operating the vehicle. To achieve this, she suggests installing glass partitions that separate the driver's workspace.
In her opinion, the obligation to accept payments makes buses resemble minivans, which negatively affects safety and the schedule.
The deputy also reminded that this issue has already been raised by many deputies at the level of local councils, but has not yet been resolved.
