According to the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Torobaev is no longer the minister. This personnel change occurred against the backdrop of a high-profile scandal triggered by an audio recording that became available on the internet.
In the recording, Torobaev's nephew expresses dissatisfaction and talks about the loss of his business - an asphalt concrete plant, mentioning the name of Tai-Muras Tashiev, the son of the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). According to him, Tashiev was allegedly involved in the "seizure" of this enterprise.
In response to the accusations, Tai-Muras Tashiev promptly issued comments in which he completely denied the information, stating that the transaction for acquiring the land in Jalal-Abad was legal and called the rumors an attempt to discredit him.
Bakyt Torobaev also confirmed that the conversation with his relative did indeed take place, but emphasized that it was a private dialogue and urged not to politicize the situation.
