At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on industrial policy, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev voiced the need to appeal to the president for budget funds to gasify the population.

Ibraev noted that in the context of electricity shortages in the country, there is a need for alternative energy sources such as gas.

By the end of 2025, the level of gasification in the republic is expected to reach 44%, with 100 kilometers of gas pipelines laid. By 2026, the number of subscribers is expected to increase by 20,000, bringing the total to 444,000. Gas consumption will amount to 520 million cubic meters, which is almost double the figures from five years ago.

In the report from "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan," it is stated that the company's capital investments amount to 1.5 billion soms per year. However, these funds are insufficient for full gasification of the population, which is why the request for additional budget funds was made to the president, the minister added.

Additionally, in 2026, the government plans to carry out gasification in five residential areas: "Ak-Bosogo," "Enesai," "Zher yntymagy," "Birimdik," and "Selection."
