In Kazakhstan, an electronic auction was held for the sale of luxury items that were confiscated during the investigation of the case against the former head of the National Security Committee, Karim Masimov. As reported by Tengrinews.kz, the auction was conducted by the Asset Recovery Management Company (ARMC).

The most attractive lot was a samurai sword in its sheath. Its starting price was only a few hundred thousand tenge, but it was ultimately sold for 3,413,825 tenge, which is more than seven times the starting price. A bidding war for this unique steel blade with an exquisite handle ensued among six participants.

The next lot was a leather belt in a national style, adorned with silver forging. It started at a price of 183,750 tenge and was sold for 524,261 tenge after active competition among four participants.

Both lots were involved in the investigation and were seized from the mansion that belonged to the former head of the National Security Committee. The funds raised will be directed to the asset recovery management fund.
