The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan: Europe needs to reconsider the security architecture

Distrust between states and a new arms race threaten global stability

On February 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, spoke at a high-level disarmament conference in Geneva, held under the auspices of the UN, according to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

In his speech, Kulubaev emphasized that the global security system is undergoing negative changes. He noted that distrust between states is increasing, and existing treaty agreements are becoming less effective. There is also a growing arms race, including the development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

The minister urged European countries to reconsider the current security architecture to prevent the emergence of major conflicts that could undermine stability and security on the international stage. He also reminded that Kyrgyzstan consistently advocates for a ban on nuclear weapons and actively supports efforts for their non-proliferation.
