Altynbek Toktosunov, a candidate in the elections for the Jogorku Kenesh from district No. 6, accused one of the winners - the current deputy Bekmurza Ergeshov - of concealing his criminal record.
Toktosunov claims that in 1997, Ergeshov was charged with large-scale drug trafficking, and in 1998 he received a five-year prison sentence. According to Toktosunov, Ergeshov served part of his sentence in a colony in Jalal-Abad. Based on this information, the candidate submitted a request to strip Ergeshov of his deputy mandate and sent documents to the Central Election Commission, the General Prosecutor's Office, and the presidential administration. "The documents were accepted for consideration; I attached a copy of the court decision," Toktosunov shared with Kaktus.media.
The editorial office of Kaktus.media requested a comment from the Central Election Commission, which reported that inquiries had been sent to the Supreme Court and the Main Department of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Attempts to obtain comments from Ergeshov went unanswered: he did not respond to calls and messages.
