According to information published by CNN, China is actively developing a new generation of nuclear arsenal, and at least one secret test has already taken place in recent years, indicating a large-scale modernization of its nuclear capabilities. The source confirms that this test was part of an overall transformation process.

The article notes that investments in nuclear technologies are bringing China closer to the level of Russia and the United States, providing it with capabilities that other nuclear powers do not possess.

It is reported that in June 2020, China conducted a secret nuclear test, despite a moratorium on such actions that has been in place since 1996, and plans to carry out several more similar experiments in the future.

According to estimates from U.S. intelligence agencies, Beijing aims to create "next-generation nuclear weapons," including systems with multiple miniature nuclear warheads on a single missile.

Furthermore, CNN points out that China is likely developing low-yield tactical nuclear weapons that could be used against targets near its borders. This may include scenarios in which Beijing responds to potential U.S. actions to defend Taiwan.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance noted that the United States intends to cooperate with Russia, China, and other countries to reduce the global nuclear arsenal. He emphasized that Washington is open to working together even with competitors to achieve this goal.
