Trump imposed an additional 10% tariff on all global imports

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the introduction of an additional 10% tariff on all imported goods, marking a new escalation in the trade confrontation. This measure will be added to the already existing customs duties.

This statement was made on February 20 and was a response to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision, which deemed the administration's actions to impose tariffs in 2025 illegal. The justices noted that Trump exceeded his authority by invoking the National Emergencies Act without Congressional approval.

Trump sharply criticized the court's ruling, accusing its members of being influenced by "foreign interests." Despite this legal defeat, the president stated that all tariffs established in the interest of national security would remain in effect.

In addition to this, Trump announced the start of a series of investigations aimed at confirming the need for protectionist measures. Thus, the U.S. administration demonstrates its readiness to continue strengthening customs control, despite resistance from the judiciary and demands for adherence to legislative procedures.
