The deputy demanded to simplify the process of obtaining documents for ethnic Kyrgyz.
According to Aitieva, these problems are particularly acute for migrants from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The main challenges arise when processing documents for children and changing surnames.
“People change their surnames and simultaneously process all necessary changes. However, when obtaining passports for children, state authorities require updates to the biometric data of the parents, which creates significant difficulties. After receiving the status of 'kairylman,' citizens must contact the representations in Tajikistan, and the response can take over a year,” the deputy noted.
Moreover, difficulties also arise with benefit payments. The difference in the rules for writing names and surnames between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan leads to errors, which can cause mothers to lose their right to receive state assistance.
Aitieva also raised the issues of ethnic Kyrgyz at the previous parliamentary meeting, where he expressed dissatisfaction that they are treated worse than enemies. “Ethnic Kyrgyz are people who do not have citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic but are Kyrgyz by nationality. We have one blood, one nation, one country. Why do we treat them worse than enemies? It is known that after the events of 2021, thousands of our citizens faced persecution and returned to their historical homeland in search of protection,” he emphasized.
The deputy urged Justice Minister Ayaz Bayetov to simplify the document processing procedure and reminded the staff of the relevant agencies about the need to show humanity and adhere to ethics regarding the needs of migrants, noting that this is of immense importance for thousands of citizens.
