After the conversation with the president, the mayor of Osh announced new priorities
During the meeting, the main areas of work were outlined based on the tasks articulated by the president. The new head of the city emphasized the need for close cooperation with the team and a commitment to the development of the southern capital.
“I am not a stranger to you. My youth was spent in Osh, and I am familiar with most of you. The city is dear to me, and I am ready to work,” said Janarbek Akayev.
He noted that the decision to accept the position of mayor was made after a lengthy conversation with the president, during which the most pressing issues of the city and ways to address them were discussed.
The new mayor emphasized that he would continue the implementation of already initiated initiatives, despite the high pace set by his predecessor. He expressed confidence that the team should maintain this momentum.
“Osh is our common home, and we must strive for results. Order and organization in our work are our main priorities,” added Akayev.
He also highlighted the need to change the approaches to interaction with businesses, stating that the president instructed to reconsider the attitude towards entrepreneurs.
“It is necessary to establish partnership relations rather than to monitor pressure and inspections. Business is our taxpayer and job creator, and our task is to create comfortable conditions for them,” emphasized the new mayor.
In addition, Akayev shared plans for actively attracting both domestic and foreign investments to the city.
At the end of the meeting, he called on city administration employees to work cohesively, responsibly, and with discipline, noting that only teamwork would lead to significant results for the residents of Osh.
It should be noted that on February 18, the president signed a decree appointing Janarbek Akayev as the new mayor of Osh. Previously, he held the position of a deputy in the Jogorku Kenesh. Information about the resignation of the former mayor, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, emerged on February 18, after rumors about his possible departure from office had been actively discussed in society for several days.
