The Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic expands cooperation to combat corruption

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, has approved a new law titled "On Counteracting Corruption," aimed at preventing corrupt activities and managing related risks. This law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh and becomes an important part of the reform of the country's anti-corruption system.

According to information provided by the Prosecutor General's Office, the new law introduces mechanisms for analyzing corruption risks, strengthens preventive measures, and promotes the digitalization of offense records. Additionally, it includes conducting anti-corruption expertise for regulatory acts and creating interagency coordination councils under the prosecutor's office.

This document is a logical continuation of the presidential decree No. 137 dated June 5, 2024, which defines the "State Strategy for Counteracting Corruption in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2025–2030" and aims at systematically reducing corruption risks.

As part of the implementation of new legislative initiatives, the Prosecutor General's Office intends to deepen cooperation with international partners, which should contribute to improving the state anti-corruption policy.

On February 18, a meeting was held at the Prosecutor General's Office with the head of the Asian Development Bank mission in Kyrgyzstan, Hanif Rahmatulla. Participants discussed support for anti-corruption reforms, strengthening the institutional capacity of the prosecutor's office, and implementing modern prevention methods.

All those present at the meeting expressed their readiness to expand cooperation, which will aid in the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy.
