Vladimir Zelensky imposed sanctions against the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus.
The text of the decree, which was published on the website of the President's Office, states: “To implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 18, 2026, ‘On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures’ (attached).”
According to the document, the measures include a ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine, asset blocking and restrictions on their use, as well as a ban on the purchase of land plots and the entry of military vessels and aircraft.

Some of the sanctions will be in effect for 10 years, while others have no expiration date.

The reason for this decision, Zelensky cited, is the support that Belarus provides to Russia during military operations.
