How Bishkek has changed over the past year and what the city authorities plan

On February 12, 2026, the final meeting of the city hall took place at the "Tunguch" theater, chaired by Adylbek Kasymaliev, where the results of 2025 and future plans for the capital were discussed.

First Deputy Mayor Mirlanbek Baigonchokov noted that a large-scale administrative reform has been completed in the city. As a result of changing district boundaries and creating new administrations in the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts, it has become possible to address local issues more effectively. Over the year, 6 social facilities were built in Bishkek, 18 streets were repaired, and more than two thousand new streetlights were installed. Among the significant achievements, the renovation of the kindergarten in the village of Orok and the improvement of communal infrastructure were also highlighted.

Successes have also been achieved in the field of digitalization. The "My City" app has already been installed by more than 530 thousand users, providing the ability to track the location of public transport in real-time and plan routes with transfers. The capital has begun the implementation of "smart stops" with voice notifications, and the "Auto-evacuator" system has been introduced. Now, municipal land tenants can pay for services and process documents online without visiting the city hall.

A key achievement of the year was the creation of the General Plan for Bishkek, projected until 2050. This project was developed in collaboration with specialists from St. Petersburg and has already been presented to the city's residents. The authorities intend to follow a clear plan that will ensure the long-term development of the capital.
