Veterinary Service Employees Will Receive Additional Payments from the Special Fund
This information was provided in response to a question from Deputy Saltanat Amanova, who noted that low salaries in the Veterinary Service deter young specialists, resulting in the hiring of retirees.
“This summer, there was a significant number of diseases among cattle, and even vaccination did not yield the desired results. This is largely related to the work of the Veterinary Service. Measures are needed to address the existing problems in this area,” she added.
Bakyt Torobaev also provided statistics: in 2025, 26 million heads of both large and small livestock, as well as poultry, were vaccinated.
Additionally, the minister noted that there are currently 1,600 private veterinarians in the republic. Work is underway to establish their status, duties, and responsibilities, and the issue of increasing their incomes is also being considered. “The situation now is such that if livestock owners call private veterinarians, they come, but if not, they don’t. We want them to monitor the condition of animals constantly, regardless of calls,” he emphasized.
The minister acknowledged that the salary level in the Veterinary Service is indeed low.
“In this regard, a special account has been opened, to which we have allowed funds to be directed to increase the salaries of employees. We are also working on the 'Young Veterinarian' program to attract young specialists to the regions. If they agree to work in villages, we are ready to help them with housing and provide salary supplements,” he added.
