Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu emphasized the development of trade relations


As part of his official visit to Turkey, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu held a meeting with the country's president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to information provided by the parliament's press service.

During the conversation, issues of strengthening bilateral relations and key areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey were discussed. Turgunbek uulu conveyed greetings from President Sadyr Japarov to Erdoğan, emphasizing that close contacts between the heads of state are the foundation for sustainable partnership.

He noted that Erdoğan's visit to Kyrgyzstan in 2024 will be a historic moment, opening a new chapter in strategic cooperation. The Speaker expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in activating interaction in all areas and confirmed the parliament's readiness to support the implementation of the agreements reached.

The discussion also touched upon cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries. Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu reminded about the joint work within the Organization of Turkic States and TurkPA, and also announced plans to hold a TurkPA meeting in Bishkek this year.

Furthermore, he noted that this visit was his first official trip since being elected to the post and symbolizes the closeness of the Kyrgyz and Turkish peoples. Turgunbek uulu also proposed to develop trade and economic ties and requested Erdoğan for political support for joint projects.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for his part, expressed confidence that this visit would give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation, noting the special significance of fraternal and strategic relations with Kyrgyzstan.
