Ahmatbek Keldibekov is a well-known politician and statesman who has held key positions in the financial system and parliament over the years. He was the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the 5th convocation, led the Social Fund and tax authorities, and was also a deputy.In 2022, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek acquitted him on three charges related to corruption and abuse of power. Previous court decisions were overturned by the Supreme Court, and the case was sent for reconsideration.
In September 2024, it became known that Keldibekov had left the position of president of the Federation of Weightlifting of Kyrgyzstan. In August 2025, structures in the water protection zone in the city of Osh were slated for demolition, including the restaurant "Baysan," which is associated with Ahmatbek Keldibekov.
