“We are in touch with several European leaders. They call and ask not to disclose information about our negotiations. Some of them are having conversations here, without official notification. Nevertheless, what they communicate to us in these confidential discussions is no different from their public statements. They are the same calls: ‘We need to end the conflict,’ ‘Something needs to be done,’” Lavrov noted.
