
On February 4, 2026, during his working visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov, met with the Minister of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, issues related to the further development of trade, economic, and investment relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Bahrain were discussed.
Maripov emphasized the importance of the prompt establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission and its first meeting, which is to take place in Kyrgyzstan within 2026. He also noted the necessity of implementing bilateral visits and expanding the legal framework of agreements between the two states, including plans to launch regular flights between Bishkek and Manama.
Sheikh Salman Al Khalifa expressed gratitude for the proposals and information provided, and confirmed his department's readiness to support all the raised issues.
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on further advancing the issues on the agenda and continuing work to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
