At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev stated that the government cannot provide compensation to farmers.

This statement was made in response to questions from deputies regarding the support provided to farmers who lost their crops due to a lack of irrigation water or landslides.

"The budget does not allocate funds for compensation payments. Farmers should insure their lands and crops. If compensation is to be provided, it should apply to all businesses, as farming is also a business. In the face of the risks that entrepreneurs encounter, obtaining insurance is necessary," emphasized Amangeldiev.

In March 2025, it was reported that the government plans to develop an agricultural insurance system in the country. It is expected that six types of agricultural crops will be subject to insurance: cereal grains, corn, beans, cotton, tobacco, and sugar beets.
