Officials trust the Coca-Cola brand more than the complaints of Bishkek residents

Residents of the Lenin district living on Lushchikhina Street have turned to deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva with complaints about a constant unpleasant odor coming from the factory. Despite their appeals, the Cabinet of Ministers is convinced that "Coca-Cola" cannot be the source of the stench. The deputy voiced these issues in the Jogorku Kenesh, emphasizing that the factory was built in violation of regulations, including non-compliance with sanitary standards, and its fence is too close to residential buildings.

Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev did not promise to conduct an investigation but merely noted that the factory was built before the houses appeared. Moreover, he effectively acted as the company's press secretary, stating that since "Coca-Cola" is an international brand, it cannot produce harmful emissions.

This immediately raises the question: why is Amangeldiev so protective of "Coca-Cola"? Instead of addressing the residents' complaints and identifying the source of the unpleasant odor, the official simply refers to the brand's reputation. It seems that wealthy and well-known companies are exempt from scrutiny? Local residents report a smell, and the response they receive is references to "global standards" and ecology. It is unclear why the interests of business are more important to the official than the problems of ordinary citizens.
