He reported that, according to information from the head of the administration, 916 traders will be relocated and will receive their new spots. According to the akim of the Lenin district, there are currently 8,500 trading spots at the Osh bazaar.
Minister of Construction Nurdin Oruntaev indicated that the project is under the management of the president's administration. Bishkek's vice-mayor Ramiz Aliyev added that the number of traders is currently being clarified, and Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev assured that the authorities intend to provide all interested parties with spots in the new market, and the government is responsible for its implementation.
Kuanychbek Kongantiev expressed dissatisfaction that it is unclear whom to contact for information. He proposed creating an interdepartmental commission that includes all interested bodies so that traders have the opportunity to receive the necessary answers. The deputy strongly urged the establishment of clear rules for the relocation of traders, as well as timelines and principles for the distribution of trading spots.
Daniyar Amangeldiev reported that a working group will be formed in collaboration with the mayor's office to ensure the transparency of the process, and such a group will be created next week.
It should be noted that plans to relocate the Osh market have been discussed since 2023. The new market is being built in the northern part of the capital, away from the city center. The project involves the construction of a large trading complex with covered pavilions, storage facilities, engineering infrastructure, and parking.
At the end of January 2026, it was reported that the creation of trading spaces at the new location had begun. At the same time, entrepreneurs expressed concerns that the closure of the old market could occur before the new facility is fully ready, and trading spots would be provided on a paid basis.
