During the discussion, the parties touched upon topics related to strengthening cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United Nations, as well as joint projects and future plans.
Turgunbek uulu noted the active cooperation of the republic with the UN in various areas. "We are focused on further developing our partnership and implementing joint initiatives in different fields. The Jogorku Kenesh, as the main legislative body, is ready for close interaction," he emphasized.
The Speaker also spoke about achievements in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.
"In recent years, we have observed growth in our gross domestic product, which indicates high performance of the domestic economy. The measures taken will continue, and by 2030 we have significant work ahead of us. The President has set serious tasks for us, and the parliament is making every effort to implement them," he added.
Antje Grave congratulated Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu on his re-election as Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh. She also noted her office's interest in ongoing cooperation with the Kyrgyz parliament, emphasizing the high appreciation of Kyrgyzstan's efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Additionally, Grave highlighted the important role of the parliament in implementing the planned initiatives, mentioning the activities of the Council on Women's Rights, Children, and Gender Equality under the Jogorku Kenesh. She expressed readiness to support the active participation of this council in upcoming international events.
The participants of the meeting also discussed issues of gender equality.
The Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh noted that Kyrgyzstan pays significant attention to this topic. "Women hold a special place in our traditions and values. Currently, active work is being done to enhance the role of women in public and political life. For example, in the VIII convocation of parliament, a 30-percent quota is provided for women, which means that every third deputy is a woman. This achievement is not even observed in leading countries of the world," he concluded.
