According to him, in recent years "Unaa" has experienced frequent changes in leadership, and some of them have been detained on suspicion of corrupt activities. The president noted that shadow schemes related to the sale of driver's licenses had been in operation in this agency for a long time.
Japarov pointed out that the cost of illegal document issuance had reached $1,000, and now unscrupulous intermediaries are offering expedited services for $2,000. He said: "Some citizens thought, 'I'll buy it quickly and leave for Moscow.' This is how such schemes arose. Now it's 'Unaa's' turn to restore order." Previously, the agency frequently changed hands, and no structure was able to implement a full reform due to a lack of necessary resources, spirit, and will. "If order had been established, financial flows into someone's pockets would have stopped," he added.
The head of state announced that "Unaa" will now be under the management of the presidential administration, and real reforms aimed at creating a fully transparent, digital, and corruption-free operation of the institution have begun.
"We are here to restore order. The new leadership has already started its work," the president emphasized. The event concluded with communication with citizens and discussions about upcoming changes in the document issuance system.
