The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction answered who receives 500,000 soms and revealed his salary
According to the deputy minister, architects undergo training for six to seven years, unlike students who study for five years. He explained: "Architects earn from $15 to $20 per square meter, and if we are talking about 1,000 to 2,000 square meters, the amount becomes significant. Before the establishment of the Architecture Department, 54 regional offices were only engaged in project approvals, while private companies were drawing and profiting from it, including at the request of deputies. Therefore, a department was created with highly qualified architects and designers to compete with the private sector. For example, one of the architects, N. Ch., earned 477,368 soms by conducting a topographic survey over an area of 4,823 hectares, which requires high qualifications and attention to detail. Not all employees of the department earn 500,000 soms — this amount only applies to architects and technologists working on projects for medical institutions, of which there are only eight in the country."
The deputy minister also pointed out that only 45 employees of his office receive funding from the state budget.
“The remaining 2,236 employees do not receive a single som from the budget; we support ourselves and pay taxes. Last year, our department paid 68 million soms in taxes. My salary is 64,000 soms, the salary of specialists is 45,000, and the chief specialist's salary is 80,000 soms,” he added.
Deputy Kunduzbek Suimanov noted that students of the State Medical Academy study for nine years, but their incomes are significantly lower.
To this, the deputy minister responded that "employees of private clinics receive decent salaries."
The deputy countered that "we are considering state institutions, so the comparison of study periods is incorrect."
Imanakun uulu also noted that N. Ch. had not received a salary for four months.
“Salaries are paid after the completion of projects, not monthly. The drawing process can take up to a year, and if we distribute the earnings over the year, it will amount to 180,000 to 200,000 soms,” he concluded.
