The economic building of the Opera and Ballet Theater is set to be transferred under the management of the Ministry of Finance.
The deputy referred to an order received from the theater director, which stated that the Minister of Culture had instructed to transfer the land plot along with the building to the management of the Ministry of Finance and to relocate the theater inventory by February 13.
“This building stores costumes and decorations. Forcing the theater staff to move in winter is extremely wrong,” noted Atambaev.
Marat Tagaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, added that this utility building was previously rented but was later returned to state ownership.
“This is the utility yard of the theater, which has not been used for a long time. Now the government has decided to repurpose the plot for another use. The theater has been allocated 25 hundredths in the center, and funding for the construction of a new utility building has already been resolved,” explained the deputy minister.
Seidbek Atambaev suggested that his colleagues visit the building before February 13 to discuss the situation with the theater staff and make a well-founded decision.
