The U.S. Secretary of State and the President's National Security Advisor Marco Rubio stated that the "Council for Peace," initiated by Donald Trump, is not a replacement for the United Nations. This statement was made during hearings in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Rubio emphasized that the establishment of the "Council for Peace" does not imply a replacement for the UN, adding that this organization has done "very little" regarding Gaza, if we only consider the provision of food aid.

Let us remind you that on January 22, the charter of the "Council for Peace" was signed by representatives of 19 countries at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This initiative is aimed at peacefully resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Donald Trump also reported that other states have joined the project. The main goal of the "Council for Peace" is to manage the Gaza Strip and to prevent and resolve conflicts in other regions.
