The Forensic Expert Service of Kyrgyzstan Summarized Its Work for the Year 2025
During the reporting period, the service received 7,268 requests for examinations from law enforcement and judicial authorities. The central office of the FES accounted for almost 66% of all appointments, while regional divisions, especially the Southern Department, also significantly increased their workload.
Experts from the service conducted 6,285 examinations, of which 88% were complex and medium-complexity studies. The number of primary examinations increased significantly, while the number of repeated, additional, and commission examinations decreased, indicating an improvement in the quality of expert research.
The largest number of examinations was carried out in the fields of forensic automotive, forensic, linguistic, and religious studies, as well as in forensic ballistic, traceological, and explosive technical areas.
The internal affairs bodies remain the main initiators of examinations, accounting for almost 80% of all appointments. The FES also actively collaborates with courts, the prosecutor's office, the State National Security Committee, and other state institutions.
By region, the highest number of examinations was appointed in Bishkek, Chui, and Osh regions.
In 2025, the service continued to provide paid state expert services, with a total amount of 14,008,763 soms, which is almost twice as much compared to 2024.
The increase in the number and complexity of examinations, as well as the expansion of the range of studies and the development of paid services, highlight the increased workload on the Forensic Expert Service and the simultaneous improvement in the organization of its work.
