Training in state driving schools will cost 19,000 soms — Orunbekov
He noted that President Sadyr Japarov provided clear explanations in a recent interview that should conclude public discussions on this matter.
Orunbekov also emphasized that some private driving schools had previously spread false information online, which contributed to the emergence of protest sentiments and active media discussions.
He refuted rumors that the cost of driving lessons would allegedly rise to 100 or 200 thousand soms.
“The decision has already been made — training will cost 19 thousand soms, while the expenses for fuel during practical lessons will be paid by the students additionally. Even taking these costs into account, the new system will still be significantly cheaper than before,” Orunbekov emphasized.
He added that previously the total cost of training and internships in private driving schools reached 35-36 thousand soms.
The presidential administration noted that the reform is aimed at improving the quality of driver training and streamlining the system.
