In an interview with the Kabar agency, President Sadyr Japarov spoke about the transition of driving schools to state management. In his opinion, this decision should help eliminate corruption in driver training and improve the quality of education, which is particularly relevant against the backdrop of increasing traffic accidents.

The head of state noted that the old system had long been plagued by corrupt schemes: many driving schools issued certificates without actual training, and exams at the state institution "Unaa" often occurred for monetary rewards.

The president emphasized that after the introduction of stricter controls, it became clear that many graduates of private driving schools could not pass the exam even on their tenth attempt, which confirms the formal approach to training and the lack of necessary skills.
Sadyr Japarov pointed out that more than 900 people die on the roads of Kyrgyzstan each year.
He identified the low level of driver training in private driving schools and the practice of "buying" driver's licenses as the main reasons for the high accident rate.

“These are colossal human losses, sometimes comparable to the consequences of military conflicts. We must eliminate corrupt schemes because we are talking about people's lives,” the president noted.

According to the head of state, the new state driving schools will be equipped with modern training equipment, updated technology, and qualified instructors. Training will include not only practical driving lessons but also the basics of technical maintenance, traffic rules, and road behavior culture.

At the same time, the president added that specialists from private driving schools will not be left without work; they plan to involve them in teaching at the new state educational institutions.

Additionally, starting from September of this year, traffic rules will be included in the school curriculum.

Graduates will be able to take the driving license exam without the need to complete additional courses.
The president urged citizens not to succumb to provocations aimed against the reform.
“Some individuals are trying to create a negative climate to protect their commercial interests. Do not let yourselves be deceived. It will soon become clear that the new system will be transparent, fair, and focused on people's safety,” he added.
