French authorities have decided to ban the use of video services such as Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet for government officials. This was reported by Politico, citing the press service of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
The publication notes that "France will not allow its officials to use American platforms for video conferencing."
According to officials, the main goal of this ban is to stop the use of non-European technologies and ensure the security and confidentiality of electronic communications in the public sector, relying on domestic tools.

As an alternative, French officials will be offered the Visio service, developed by the interdepartmental digital technology management (DINUM).

Currently, about 40,000 government officials are already using Visio, and in the future, DINUM plans to increase this number to 250,000.

Earlier, Minister Delegate for Public Service David Amiel stated that by 2027, French government agencies plan to completely abandon American platforms for video communication, which is part of efforts to strengthen the country's digital sovereignty and optimize public spending.
