In Parliament, the initiative for 10-month driver’s license training is being criticized
Deputy Bolota Ibraimov noted that they have received numerous complaints regarding the reform related to the issuance of driver's licenses.
“The head of the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing cannot provide adequate explanations for the necessity of this initiative. Yesterday, I met with representatives from 100 private driving schools, but the head of the state center did not attend the meeting and did not explain his actions. It is important to understand that the problems with licenses are not related to the training process but are rooted in corruption within government agencies. Instead of supporting this initiative, the Ministry of Internal Affairs would be better off apologizing to the people of Kyrgyzstan for manifestations of corruption. Against the backdrop of this initiative, government agencies appear extremely negatively. If the director of the state center is unable to explain the essence of the reform, he should be replaced. This initiative is absolutely wrong,” he stated.
Other deputies supported his opinion, asserting that even if training lasted 100 years, the situation with the issuance of licenses would not improve. “It is necessary to eliminate corruption in government agencies, not to extend the training period,” they added.
