Today at the parliament session, Dastan Bekeshev made an urgent request to extend the deadlines for taxi drivers to obtain licenses.

He emphasized that in just three days, the deadline for taxi drivers to formalize their licenses will expire. “As of today, only 7,500 licenses have been issued, while around 70,000 people are employed in this industry. Most of them will not be able to obtain the documents within the established timeframe. If we do not change the licensing deadlines, this could lead to an increase in unemployment and a rise in taxi service prices,” Bekeshev noted.

Additionally, the deputy mentioned that he has been approached by representatives of closed driving schools.

“For example, the building of the ‘Dosaaf’ driving school is completely closed, and not only instructors worked there, but also tailors, who are also denied access to the premises and equipment. This is wrong. I constantly raise the issue that 10 months of training to obtain a driver's license is too long, requiring significant time and financial resources,” he added.

Bekeshev also raised the issue of cars with Russian license plates that are in impound lots, proposing either an amnesty for them or other options to resolve the problem. “These issues need to be discussed in the relevant committee,” he noted.

In support of his initiative, Kubanych Kongantiev spoke, suggesting the creation of a commission to thoroughly examine the raised issues.

“We are receiving numerous complaints regarding taxi licensing and obtaining driver's licenses. All of this requires serious analysis, and a simple discussion within the committee will not be sufficient,” he added.
