Nikolai Valuev commented on the situation with his deepfake in the target audience segment
Nikolai Valuev, a member of the State Duma of Russia, commented on a video that is actively being discussed on social media in Central Asia. In this clip, he allegedly calls for the implementation of a "carrot and stick" policy towards the countries of the region. Despite the heated discussion, many users expressed doubts about its authenticity, suspecting it to be a well-edited deepfake.
Today, Valuev confirmed that the video has nothing to do with him. In his Telegram channel, he stated that the internet, in addition to useful information, also harbors many dangers.
He noted: "Information presented from the right angle is always aimed at perception. Today, technology allows for the creation of films without the direct involvement of people, and this has become accessible to almost everyone. However, there are always more inexperienced users, and it is for them that such manipulations are created. I am glad that technology is rapidly advancing, and this video was created using artificial intelligence. I often discuss the influence of AI and the emergence of fake videos."
Furthermore, Valuev emphasized that such technologies are now at the disposal of entire states and continue to improve.
He also urged people not to be gullible and to remember that the loudest cries come from thieves when they are caught. "It is a million times better to critically reflect on what appears on the internet before sharing it. Especially avoid unverified sources. I wish you strength and wisdom!" added State Duma member Nikolai Valuev.
