Tumanbaev explained why private driving schools are transitioning to state control
Responding to the criticism from protesters who claimed they were not informed about the reform and the potential loss of licenses, Tumanbaev noted that the heads of these educational institutions were invited in advance to a meeting at "Yntymak Ordo," where they were presented with information about the upcoming changes.
He emphasized that the level of knowledge of traffic rules among many drivers leaves much to be desired, and candidates for drivers often cannot pass the theoretical exams on their first attempt.
According to Tumanbaev, the reforms are not aimed against all private driving schools, as there are qualified specialists in this field who teach effectively and foster a culture of driving. Such instructors are planned to be involved in the state education system.
The reform of the vehicle registration and driver's license issuance system has already begun, with a primary focus on driver training. In the future, only driving schools under state control will be engaged in training cadets.
The middle of February 2026 will be the starting point for accepting applications for the new educational program that meets established standards.
