During the meeting of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection of the parliament, the issue of significant price increases for meat was discussed. This became one of the key topics in the framework of the consideration of the draft Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Breeding in Animal Husbandry of the Kyrgyz Republic."

Deputies noted that the sharp rise in meat prices negatively affects the financial situation of citizens. It was emphasized that the authorized bodies must take necessary measures to stabilize prices for meat products.

According to Zhanibek Kerimaliev, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry, the department is constantly working to prevent price increases for meat. He reported that raids are regularly conducted in markets, and negotiations are ongoing with entrepreneurs. In addition, the possibility of organizing social shops where meat will be sold at reduced prices is being considered.

“Issues related to high meat prices are particularly relevant for Bishkek and Osh. We are working on improving the delivery of meat from the regions to these cities. Overall, the current situation with meat prices remains stable,” added Kerimaliev.
