Putin also commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to join the "Council of Peace" and outlined progress in negotiations with Washington regarding the situation in Ukraine.
According to the head of state, Russia has always supported efforts aimed at strengthening international stability. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will study the proposal to join the "Council of Peace" and will consult with allies before giving a final response, he added.
The president noted that Trump's initiative to create the "Council of Peace" primarily concerns resolving issues in the Middle East and finding ways to address the Palestinian problem.
"It is important that actions regarding Gaza contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Middle Eastern conflict. The wishes of the Palestinians must be taken into account when rebuilding the Gaza Strip. Russia has special relations with the Palestinian people and is ready to allocate $1 billion for the 'Council of Peace' from funds frozen in the USA," Putin emphasized.
Let us recall that the initiative to create the "Council of Peace" was proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, who invited leaders from several countries to participate in this project.
Earlier, the White House administration announced the formation of a committee to manage Gaza (NCAG). To participate in the "Council of Peace," a contribution of $1 billion is required. Donald Trump, as the chairman of the "Council of Peace," will have the right to control the composition of participants, block decisions, and create new structures.
