The video shows the minister exiting her official vehicle while her aides open the door for her. Many also noted that a lavishly set dastorkon was prepared for the visit of the high-ranking guest.
In the comments to this video, Kyrgyzstanis expressed dissatisfaction with the tradition of holding pompous receptions for officials, as well as the use of national costumes and elements of official protocol. Public opinion suggests that such formats of meetings are outdated and need to be reconsidered. This incident has sparked a broad discussion about how visits by high-ranking officials are organized and why such situations are regularly subjected to harsh criticism.
Nevertheless, some commentators defended the minister, stating that opening the door for a woman is primarily a matter of etiquette, not a display of servility.
It should be noted that such incidents are not new in Kyrgyzstan. For example, in 2016, a scandal occurred in the Alay district during the opening of a kindergarten when children were dressed in light costumes while officials wore warm jackets. As a result of the media backlash, the Ministry of Education held the head of the district education department accountable, although the then-minister Elvira Sarieva claimed that the children were outside only waiting for the delegation.
A similar situation occurred in 2022 in Osh during the opening of the mini-football field of FC "Alaï," when young athletes stood in the cold in light uniforms while listening to welcome speeches. The city hall explained at the time that the children were wearing thermal underwear, which they were used to training in, but still, after the heated reaction on social media, an investigation was initiated.
Internet users emphasize that these recurring cases indicate systemic problems and highlight the need to reconsider approaches to organizing official events.
