Ekaterina Bivol will stand trial for insulting Kyrgyz and Kazakhs

In Saint Petersburg, at the Lenin District Court, a trial will begin on January 29, 2026, regarding the case of Ekaterina Bivol, who is the ex-wife of the famous boxer Dmitry Bivol. She is accused of publicly inciting interethnic hatred.

The basis for this case was a video that was posted on a Telegram channel in October 2025. Employees of the Center for Counteracting Extremism (Center "E") found statements in it that, according to experts, demean the dignity of the Kyrgyz and Kazakh nationalities.

An administrative case has been initiated against Ekaterina Bivol. According to the norms of legislation, serious measures are provided for such actions, including a significant fine or administrative arrest. It should be noted that this is not the first time Bivol has found herself at the center of legal disputes; however, this incident has sparked particularly heated discussions in society due to the offensive remarks directed against entire nations.
