In Parliament, concerns were raised about the low representation of women in leadership positions.
According to the MP, out of 22 government members, only one woman holds a position, and among 76 deputy ministers, only 17 are women. This statistics highlight a serious problem of gender representation inequality.
The situation is not better in the regions: there are virtually no women in regional administrations, and their absence is also noticeable among akims. Out of 79 deputy akims, only 28 are women, which makes up 35 percent.
Talieva emphasized that this number meets the minimum requirements of the gender quota, and most women hold positions related to social issues, which reflects stereotypes in the distribution of roles.
She also reminded that previously, the deputy prime ministers for social issues were women, however, these positions have been abolished. Currently, out of 48 deputy mayors across the country, only 10 are women, which is about 20 percent.
