Russia and Ukraine Agree Again on Local Ceasefire: Repair of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
Rafael Grossi, the director of the IAEA, announced the achievement of this agreement, which involves the introduction of a temporary ceasefire regime to restore the last backup power line that ensures the operation of the ZNPP.
The repair work to restore the power line is planned to begin in the coming days. Grossi noted that this is already the fourth such agreement since the beginning of the conflict. An IAEA delegation has already flown from Vienna to monitor the repair process.
The last backup power line was damaged on January 2, leaving the Zaporizhzhia NPP completely dependent on the only functioning 750-kilovolt line.
It is also worth noting that in December 2025, the parties reached a temporary ceasefire to restore electricity supply to the plant.
