In France, a resolution has been prepared for the country's withdrawal from NATO
Clémence Geth, Vice President of the National Assembly and Deputy from the left party "Unsubmissive France" (La France Insoumise)
The document was initiated by Vice President of the National Assembly Clémence Geth, who noted that disagreements with the United States have become the main motive for such a decision. In her opinion, Washington's actions, which she characterized as "imperial policy," undermine the independence of the European Union, effectively turning it into a vassal.
Geth also mentioned the kidnapping of the Venezuelan president and the threats coming from the United States, which call into question the sovereignty of other countries and exert pressure on the EU through sanctions. She criticized the demands of the United States on NATO allies to increase military spending, which, according to her, serves the interests of the American military-industrial complex.
In Geth's view, leaving NATO would allow France to restore its military and diplomatic independence. She is confident that such a measure would not lead to isolation, but rather strengthen the country's influence in multilateral formats, promoting environmental initiatives, disarmament, and the protection of public goods.
